Common Questions
-
Do I need to prep before my appointment?
Please try your best to arrive for your appointment without any eye makeup on. Do not curl your lashes or wear mascara the day before and on the day of your appointment. Following these steps for your appointment will help minimize the cleanup time and give us more time for lashing.
-
What types of lashes do you use?
At Pink Mousse, we use silk lashes. Our lashes are the softest and most natural feeling lash extension on the market. We use ultra-black lashes to create a more dramatic look.
-
What is the difference between classic and volume lashes?
Classic and volume lashes are applied using two different techniques. Classic lashes are known as “traditional” lash extensions. Each classic lash is applied to one of your natural lashes. This technique creates a more natural look that appears as though you are wearing a thickening mascara. Volume lashes are applied using an advanced technique where lash technicians handmake lash fans of 2-7 lashes and apply them to one of your natural lashes. This application method creates a fuller and fluffier look that is more similar to a strip lash.
-
Will my natural lashes fall out if I get extensions?
Lash extensions will not cause your natural eyelashes to fall out. Your natural lashes have a life cycle of falling out and regrowing. Since your new lash extensions will be attached to your natural lashes, they will follow the life cycle of your natural lashes. If you decide to remove your extensions, your natural lashes may appear to be shorter and more sparse because you have grown accustomed to having a full set of longer, thicker lashes.
-
Howe long does it take to apply lash extensions?
The length of your appointment will depend on the age, health, and natural shedding cycle of your natural lashes. Your initial appointment can range from 2-4 hours, with fills ranging from 1-2 hours. We would be more than happy to provide a complimentary consultation to discuss your lash goals and how we can best achieve them.
-
How long will my new lashes last?
Your new lashes will last between 2 to 4 weeks depending on your skincare routine and your own natural lash life cycle. To maintain the full look of your lashes, it will require you to maintain refills every 2-3 weeks.
-
Can I apply mascara to my lash extensions?
No! Using mascara will cause major retention issues that will shorten the life of your eyelash extensions. We recommend that you avoid using mascara in order to keep your lashes looking their best!
-
Can I get my lashes wet?
The bonding agent we use for your extensions is completely waterproof, which allows you to shower, swim, and exercise without harming your new lashes. Do not get your lashes wet for at least 24 hours after the initial application. Keeping your lashes dry for 24 hours after application will allow the bonding agent to completely dry and will prolong the life of your extensions.
-
Are lash extensions safe?
Yes, lash extensions are very safe when applied by a fully trained professional. We have multiple types of adhesive on hand at all times and will choose the best type for you at your appointment.
-
I am allergic to many adhesives, will I react your lash bonder?
